Some dates: 2002-2008
What do these five years represent?

  • 2002 – The canton of Jura accepted the foundation and acknowledged it as public interest. Peter Bratschi, who took care of all the required procedures with the authorities, Martha Müller, who supported the creation from the start, François Lachat who pushed for the idea and Matthias Frehner who knew and appraised the work all formed the Foundation Council. The idea of giving the foundation its own space materialized and plans for a building next to Oscar Wiggli's workshop in Muriaux were developed. Some of Oscar Wiggli's friends participated in the project.
  • 2003 – The construction which started in summer, finished in November. A few indoor installations were started. The first sculptures were placed into the exhibition hall.
  • 2004 – Opening days and hours are decided on. First pamphlets and first posters are made. A beamer allows projections. On the 1st of May, the foundation receives its first group of visitors (Harley from Zurich)
  • 2005 – Numerous groups – Diashows and new CD-ROMs. Preparation of the “Friends of the Foundation” with the participation of Traudl Hunziker and Guido
  • 2006 – The “Friends” first year. The foundation participates at the presentation of two of Wiggli's exhibitions at the KMB.
    Beginnings of the archives of the engravings under the direction of Christine Stauffer.
  • 2007 – We regret Marty Müller’s death, one of the foundation’s initiator.
    Installation of a video point and an improvement of the audio point. Three new videos on the Von Roll period are edited in the Ton-Art studio with Benno Hofer.
    The foundation's accountancy becomes official.
    Jochen Hesse, an art historian, commissioner at the Kunstmuseum Bern's exhibition and editor of the important catalogue, becomes a member of the Foundation Council.
  • 2008 – Elaboration of a DVD on the Oscar Wiggli's exhibition at the “Musée des Beaux-Arts de Berne” in 2007.
